Kinetic 2 Meter

The Kinetic 2 Meter is the final step in the Kinetic line.  Coming to full grips on airfoil optimization, that attention now is given to optimizing an entire soaring wing, and this wing is extremely fast, yet controllable at low speeds.  The airframe is an instant international hit, and is still in very high demand.  It is simply not possible to locate less than a raving review.

The airfoil submitted by the customer was used as reference to produce an entire section schedule; not used as sent.  Further tuned to what I wanted for the airframe, the section(s) coordinate data was converted to native CAD geometry.  Giving full attention to the entire intended speed range thickness, camber and section AOA change and blend across the entire span.  The result extends beyond optimized airfoil sections; the entire wing is optimized.  The wing is now mounted to the fuselage at its angle of least drag that covers a wide Reynolds number range. The stab; having zero camber, is mounted at zero incidence, thus holding that angle at nearly all but very low speeds.  Built to light weights, front side slope performance is astonishing.  As quick as anyone would want, but comfortable to fly as well.  On front side launch, just let the model run to pick up a little speed before you wail on it.  I am considering bring up a new version equipped with wingtip and tail lights for better tracking and a bit of bling.

The 60″ wing intended to be an option did not happen with this airframe, so it was developed independently for the advanced follow on to K2m; known as FPS.  As such, there is 100% parts compatibility between FPS and K2m.  A few individuals have acquired the FPS fuselage as a replacement for the K2m version, as it is seen as prone to splitting.  The Kinetic 100_v2 and the K2m are bedrock; foundational, groundbreaking airframes affirmed by all that have flown them, where the Kinetic 100_v1 developed a new class on its own, plus its own fan base.  Always current and contemporary, the fact that the models are not produced now is absolutely mind numbing.  I am currently working/looking for external production resources with the thought of bringing them back to market.  FPS follows the K2m,   And I am looking to have that done as well, as I move into new model projects and forms.

From this highpoint I am pulled into industry and academia to design and fabricate both physical and virtual wind tunnel models entirely on my own for advanced research, mostly connected to CFD.  My most favored advisor, a Distinguished Technical Fellow literally sitting on the point of the CFD engineering pyramid now refers to my aggregate work as ‘Beautiful’, which I equate to a physics professor suggesting his post grads work as ‘Elegant’.
